Description
This guy was trying to catch a little snooze dockside in Florida when I woke him approaching for a close up! Guess he didn't want the company and was giving me the hairy eyeball, so I decided to have some fun with this capture and tip the angle for a whimsical shot.
The brown pelican is one of the best known and most prominent birds found in the coastal areas of the southern and western United States. It is one of only three pelican species found in the Western Hemisphere, and one of the only two pelican species which feeds by diving into the water.

What a great shot.. love how he/she is making eye contact! I read your bio about having personal loss but glad that you have not closed yourself off and instead opened up yourself to the life around you. Good eye so keep it up! :-) Maggie
